Government

An institution designed to suppress and control our most primal and animalistic urges. Unfortunately governments are run by humans, who by definition have primal and animalistic urges.  Their urges, self-interest, greed and other psychoses can therefore influence all forms and manifestations of government: the enactment of laws, distribution of wealth, and equal treatment of the “subjects”.  Government is the delusion that humans become better, become something more, by coming together in large numbers.  Governments are neither good or bad:  they simply multiply and amplify the already existing positive and negative traits of humans.  All governments need to create for themselves playgrounds for corruption, even as they try to fight corruption elsewhere.  They need to be the voice of reason, just as they try to silence the voices of others.   And they endeavor to bring about peace and order, often through the use of force and disorder. Government is simply what happens to a civilization as it matures.
