The Wind

You were there on the day

when the wind blew in from the East

and swept everything in its path.

You saw it all happen on TV

yet you still deny it.

“it was bad luck” you say

as you scavenge through the rubble

looking for pieces of yourself

stubbornly planning to recreate

a life that has long since become a relic.

But denial will weaken your new foundations

anger will spoil your crop

Greed will become food for the wind again

And karma will seep like rain through your roof
