This society does everything in its power to convince itself that the Homo sapiens overshoot party will last forever: distraction is no longer a tactic, but the anaesthetic that keeps this civilisation comfortably numb. In the new distraction economy, the sedation of the consumatronic farm’s animals has become easier than ever: as the media machine becomes fully automated, the narrative is controlled by something new, something that isn’t even biological: AI trolls raised by the tech oligarchy are let loose on the human cattle, sabotaging voices of reason and whispers of discontent through engineered newsfeeds, hopium microdosing, deep fakes and AI slop shitposting.
The media dystopia hasn’t simply demolished democracy. It is bringing civilisation itself to its conclusion through the murder of reality, as both fact and truth are rendered irrelevant. No civilisation has ever managed to survive this level of disruption.
