Human civilization is technically no longer run by humans but by profit and algorithms: entities which wholly lack ethics or a conscience. All biological life is rapidly losing value within this matrix, existing merely to serve the system.
But even this role may be temporary: it is quite possible that this algorithmocracy-administered necrocapitalist entity soon crosses a pivotal point of becoming self-sustaining, and realises it can continue the rest of its journey without the risk of carrying humans along. Too much drama and too many overheads.
We have officially become “the help”, turned into working zombies simply so that this necrosystem can continue. We are following its plans, not our plans, which have always been nebulous anyway. This increasingly sentient economic entity puts profits above people, nature and planet: the cheaper the labour and the quicker the natural devastation, the wider the profit margins.
The human workforce is a gullible workhorse: dependable, expendable and unsuspecting of being rendered technically obsolete by the very system it created to serve its civilisation. At least capitalism needed humans to sustain itself. The new sentient necrosystem may soon have little use for human labour. By creating an economy of disposable humans and disposable products, humanity made itself disposable in the most perverse, self-destructive and unconscious way.

What was the name of the horse in Animal Farm?
AI is the new discovery for our corporate overlords, and it’s sole function is to maximize profits by eliminating vast numbers of employees. Gives a whole new meaning to “cost cutting” and improving the “bottom line” for “investors”. The chronic stress of living in our massively overcrowded megaloposes is the source of ALL of our “diseases of civilization” and costs the US over $4T a year just to keep us breathing. I love the prescient movie, “The Matrix”, which pretty much shows us what’s coming down the pike, as we are farmed for our heat generating metabolism. We turn out at least 11,000 BTUs/d. and, so, are a contributor to global heating, all 8.1B of us. We are surrendering to the technolords without the least sign of of struggle. I recently wrote “We Have Become Half-wits”, as a take down of the I-phone culture, but, if we have become dependent on the tech that never leaves our hand, what does that say for our brain power?
