The shameless hypocrisy of authority is that it will always care more about itself than the people it was meant to represent. This self-interest has always brought authority in closer affinity to other forms of power such as capital, rather than to its people. Power only collaborates with power. The alliance between the main two forms of visible power, authority and capital, has been the biggest recurring tragedy of civilisation: authority will always run to capital for support, while capital will always cling to authority for power.
This is why over the past few thousand years the role of authority has always been to maintain the self-destructive economic system which keeps it in power in the first place. Allying with capital guarantees there is no change in government, which is the primary goal of every political party. If and when the government ever changes, this is merely a change in clothes than a change in substance. What voters still don’t realise a few thousand years into this game, is that when governments change all this means is we exchange one corrupt alliance between authority and capital for another one. The actors may change seats, but the name of game is the same.
In this sense it can be argued that both authority and religion are servants of necrocapitalism: they have come into existence to protect economic power and prioritise oligarchs over people. Economic oligarchs in turn are the direct engineers of The Thing which overlooks this entire operation, which we have so fondly come to refer to as “civilisation”.
Here is the situation: the only type of economy humans have experienced in the last few thousand years is one where the alliance between authority and capital increasingly parasitizes everything. Over millennia we matured into an elaborate web of laws, religions, governance systems and technologies enabling wealth accumulation through the widespread theft of people, beings, and the resources they were originally meant to share. Our profit-obsessed society has become a 24-hour sweatshop which only serves profit and self-destruction. In this pointless rat race, no one is ever allowed to stand still, stay content, or stay in the present. People are working zombies servicing the holy alliance between authority and capital.
We may refer to this mess as “civilization”, but it is only one possible version of it. Unless the alliance between authority and capital is broken, this is the only, and soon to be the last, civilisation we ever witness.

Are we acting out the ultimate “Greek Tragedy” ? Love Rick
Ufortunately humans suffer from “HUMANISM” . It appears to be an ultimately fatal condition. Narcissism run amok. My wife has suffered with multiple myeloma (cancer) for over 25 years. Her body has produced a mutated plasma cell that suffers from a level of narcisism that has created a cell with a not natural ability to become almost immortal. That is a serious problem for the rest of her body. One of the side effects is the process of turning her bones into a kind of swiss cheese to make room for its plasma cell progeny. The skeletal structure can no longer hold up the body’s weight. The plasma cell is no longer communicating with the rest of the cells in her body. Unable to play nice. To the end game of all cells dying. A similar situation for the human species. We are acting out our personal and collective immortality project called civilization (cancer) to it’s end game of unraveling the biosphere. If we survive this project we will all be wearing space suits on our only livable planet. Survival is very unlikely. The lunatics have taken over the asylum. We have been culturally hypnotized to create our self destruction. Our cultural fantasy is ultimately fatal. Love Rick

Historically, the three enduring masters of society were the kings, clergy and military. All occupying the social space where real governance should stand. Now, Capital rules, and the main social entities which endure are Business and their enforcement arm, Government, while us schmucks carry the stress burden of serving that false master. And as revealed by the regime of Herr Drumpf and Lone Smuk, a massive “turning over” is required to enable a real world government to reconcile this rogue species with Nature. Or die. Your choice.
