Thank you to Half Eaten Dildo (!) for their lovely review of my new book Frankenpolitics. I’ve just run into this on Reddit:
“George Tsakraklides delves into the anatomy of our fractured civilization in Frankenpolitics, offering a provocative lens on the existential threats posed by the unholy alliance of money, power, and systemic exploitation. With a background spanning molecular biology, data analytics, and marketing, Tsakraklides brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to his critique of capitalism, government complicity, and corporate hegemony.
Through a fearless examination of activism’s failures, the “Great Silence” of media distraction, and the toxic veneer of hope, the book confronts the root causes of ecological and societal collapse. Tsakraklides challenges readers to embrace a revolutionary consciousness, urging humanity to dismantle growth-driven systems and reimagine a future beyond capitalism’s grasp.”
Book quote: “Hope is a dangerous sedative, it doesn’t motivate people. It is a hangover from the corporations, who want to present big smiles and blue skies on their client brochures. But this is not how effective activism works. Anger is better than hope, by a factor of a million”

Thanks Steven, no argument there. FYI I’m already in my 50s!
I’m missing Amherst and its snow so much! We just got some in the hills this week
Well written, George. I’m in my 70, and I decided a year ago I am no longer telling friends, old or young, that forestalling activism in favor of hope, is a loosing proposition. Although for more than a couple years, I’ve realized that there is no chance the human animal can think and act collectively to solve problem. Root cause analysis points to global overpopulation as the primary problem, and that can be disaggregated into elements such as immigration. There is really no government that is capable of handling the increasing level immigration to escape a horrible environment for a better environment. The net result is deterioration of the global environment. No government seems capable of even talking about overpopulation, probably because they can’t imagine how to do anything about it.
Thanks again for the enlighted response.
